Lutheran Student Movement
Submitted by Amy Troxell, president
Lutheran Student Movement (LSM) is a growing and very healthy spiritual community. If you are asking yourself "what is Lutheran Student Movement?" it is a group of students who gather to strengthen their faith through religious discussions, debates, service projects, and worships. These things mainly happen at meetings that happen on Monday's at 10 pm in Horn Meditation Chapel, every other week being student-led worship, and on the off weeks meetings with various themes. You will often find LSM members hanging out outside of LSM going to each others' sporting events, performances, and just spending the weekends together. Regular meetings are Monday nights at 10:00 in Horn Meditation Chapel. Stop by! Also this semester we have some additional things going on…
Exciting things coming up this semester:
- Spring Retreat (a focus on faith lives): March 24-25
- Sorta Fun Night (sorting t-shirts for our fundraiser, food, and games): April 7
- Lutheran Youth Day (selling t-shirts, acting as small group leaders, leading worship): April 8
Acts 29
Submitted by Allyson Salisbury, co-president
Acts 29 has had a very exciting semester. In January we went to Westfield, New Jersey to perform at Redeemer Lutheran School and Church where an Acts 29 alumna presently works. We performed an hour long show of puppet skits, singing, and sketches Friday night at Redeemer's open house and we presented the message at the Sunday morning children's service.
We have also visited the Selinsgrove Center and look forward to making one or two more visits there before the end of the semester.
A major upcoming event will be an Easter performance of a modified Stations of the Cross on April 2 nd. The event will be open to the Susquehanna community and will feature personal reflections about each station by students.
Acts 29 will also be helping with Lutheran Youth Day and SAI's Lock of Love.
