Students Working During the SU CASA Trip

Susquehanna Students Reach Out

Over winter break, some Susquehanna students used their free time to travel to areas in need of assistance and lend a helping hand. The annual SU CASA Costa Rica/Nicaragua trip included 20 students who spent 15 days working at medical clinics, construction sites, and vacation Bible school. They also took time out from work to visit sites across the two countries and study images of Jesus in Latin America, the theme of the course. They had discussions and lectures with various Latin American speakers to get a personal view of religion in Latin America.

Students Working During the Hurricane Katrina Relief Trip

From January 7-14, nineteen students and four staff from Susquehanna University headed to Mandeville, Louisiana to help with Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts. The phrase "you have to experience it to understand it" has never been so appropriate- one student said "if a picture is worth a thousand words, then this experience is worth a million." Many of the students reported that the trip to the Gulf Coast was either the greatest or one of the greatest experiences that they have ever had. Everyone on the trip agreed that Susquehanna University should stay engaged with this work as long as possible.
