Rev. Mark Wm. Radecke

Chaplain to the University

Rev. Mark Wm. Radecke

After 18 years of parish ministry, Chaplain Radecke became Susquehanna's chaplain in 1997. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (BA in Theatre and Speech), the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (M.Div.), Trinity Lutheran Seminary (STM), and Princeton Theological Seminary (D.Min).

Author of three published volumes of sermons, he teaches service-learning courses as a member of the Department of Philosophy, Religion and Classical Studies. As Chaplain to the University, he ministers to and with all members of the SU community.

He and his wife, Tami, live on campus. They are the parents of five grown children and three small grandchildren.

Father Ted Keating

Recently appointed as Chaplain to the Catholic community at Susquehanna University, Father Ted is the pastor of St. Pius X. He offers a Catholic presence on campus to those who might need his services. Catholic Campus Ministry, through a variety of liturgical, educational, and social activities strives to bring direction, reassurance, confidence, and hope to those who desire to grow in their faith commitment.

Rabbi Nina Mandel

Rabbi to the University

Rabbi Nina Mandel

Rabbi Mandel serves as a Lecturer in Religion for Susquehanna's Philosophy, Religion, and Classical Studies Department. She also serves as Rabbi for Temple Beth-El in nearby Sunbury, Pennsylvania and provides a presence for Susquehanna students of the Jewish faith. Susquehanna's chapter of Hillel provides a place for fellowship and learning in the Jewish faith.

Nancy Musser

Nancy has been the Administrative Assistant to the Chaplain since 1999. In addition to keeping things exquisitely well-organized and running the office, Nancy is beloved by students for her famous bottomless candy dish.


Dr. Marcos Krieger

Director of Chapel Music

Dr. Marcos Krieger

Dr. Marcos Krieger serves as Director of Chapel Music. Dr. Krieger holds this position in addition to his duties as an Assistant Professor of Music/University Organist at SU. Dr. Krieger earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. A musicologist as well as a performer, Dr. Krieger most recently served as Director of Music Ministry at Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA. He is a native of Brazil and his current research focuses on the hymnody of the Xerente tribe in the Amazon jungle, among whose people his parents continue to serve as missionaries.
