“The SU Chemistry Department encourages each and every student to work one on one with professors in class as well as conduct vanguard research in a variety of disciplines.  From medicinal isolation to heteroscorpionate organometallics to work in fluorescence involving lasers, students are encouraged to engage in undergraduate research with advanced instrumentation at a level of intellectual independence that is unheard of at larger institutions.”

"I am very proud to be a member of SU’s Chemistry Department. It is a place with ample opportunities to explore and identify your interests. Faculty members are easily approachable and very helpful. Also, a lot of importance is placed on undergraduate research. Everyone gets to be involved in a research project or two at some point. I had the opportunity to be involved in two research projects which not only increased my research experience but also made me realize that I would like to further my career in scientific research. "
