The Chaplain's Corner OMG!!! It's just an expression, right? "Oh my god!!!" Theologian Paul Tillich suggested that whatever we grasp as our ultimate concern we call "god." "OMG! I aced (or flunked) that test." "OMG! He is so HOT!" "OMG! I was so wasted!" "OMG! Did you hear how much she makes?" Grades, sex, alcohol, money: contenders all in the campaign to become our ultimate concern, and therefore our "god." OMG! Maybe it's not just an expression after all. |
