Classroom Availability for Extended/Make-up Testing
In order to accommodate a variety of documented student learning differences, extended testing is often required. To facilitate this process, the Committee on Teaching and Learning, together with Alex Smith and Scott Hollenbach, will post this linked Excel sheet each semester. The sheet details the usage of all classrooms in the University by time and location. Once you have located an empty classroom in which to administer a test, you can double-check the classroom's availability at a particular time by browsing the Campus Event Calendar at http://vems.susqu.edu/BrowseForSpace.aspx, and then by confirming with Alex Smith for daytime hours, or with Scott Hollenbach for evening hours.
"Teachable Moment" Resources:
Local, national and international events often arise that can be extremetly difficult, but that also provide us with invaluable opportunities for student engagement. These 'teachable moments' can be a powerful addition to our students' learning experiences, but can also elicit strong and unexpected student responses. The links below provide resources to help instructors incorporate recent events into their classrooms in supportive and meaningful ways.
