Mission Statement:
The Task force on Diversity in the Curriculum is committed to enabling the fundamental transformation of curriculum and pedagogy at Susquehanna University which we believe is necessary to address fully the complex issues of diversity in the human community. We seek a curriculum and pedagogy which acknowledge the contributions of different cultures to the hegemonic whole as well as the power imbalances which affect many groups and populations, and which recognize and accept differences, affirm the necessity for both social agreement and constructive and respectful conflict, and build bridges among groups in order to develop community and avoid isolationism. We seek to nurture in this university community the desire and ability to understand different points of view and to act on that understanding for our mutual well-being.
