Amy Winans, Assistant Professor of English, teaches Early American Literature, Nineteenth-Century American Literature, African American Literature, and Diversity Studies. She is an associate editor of the forthcoming anthology, Early American Writings (Oxford University Press), and a contributing editor to the Dictionary of Literary Biography volume American Women Prose Writers to 1820. She is currently working on a book-length project, tentatively entitled "Slaves and Citizens: Early African America and the Discourse of Nations."
