Recycling Program - Workers

Welcome Recycling Employees!

In case you forget any of the details about how to bag up the recyclables, here is how everything goes:

- Plastic #1 and #2 need to be bagged separately!! Remember, #1 is the see-through kind of clear plastic that water bottles are made of. #2 is is the cloudy or colored plastic like milk bottles are made of. Be sure to empty out all of the containers and remove all the lids. Also, plastic bags are NOT recyclable!

- Green, brown, and clear glass all get bagged up separately, and again remember to empty out all bottles and remove lids

- Aluminum cans, just empty all liquids out. Also, if you would like you can remove the tabs and give them to Melissa or any other member of Circle K because they are donated to the Ronald McDonald House

- Newspapers, along with the glossy inserts that come inside of newspapers

- Copy paper, shredded paper, magazines, and any other kind of paper all get bagged together. Remember to bag newspapers separately and that non-corrugated cardboard, like what cereal boxes are made of, is not recyclable

- Corrugated cardboard gets set next to trash cans and the housekeepers pick it up and take care of it

- Batteries can be recycled in the Degenstein Campus Center, in the designated boxes

*Hours need to be logged by every other Sunday on WebSU!

*On the first and third Saturday of every month, we need people to sign up to go over to the Borough and help with recycling there between 8:00 and 12:00. I will always send an email out about one week ahead of time to ask who can help out, as with sporting and other events on campus. If you ever want to help out with recycling at the Borough or at any certain event, or have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me any time!

Thank you for helping out with the Recycling Program!
