I am the faculty adviser to The Crusader , the Susquehanna University student newspaper.

I am a comma aficionado. I have some comma usage rules so that my students know how to please me.

My current research concerns the lives of African-American residents of Milton, Northumberland County, Pa., especially as reported in the local newspapers. It's called the Milton Roots Project .

"There's nothing wrong with wanting an education to achieve the good life, but the privilege of education commits you to a life of doing good." --James Applegate, president of the National Communication Association , keynote address to the Eastern Communication Association , Portland, Me., April 2001.
