Welcome to my website. I'm currently an Assistant Professor at Susquehanna University. I completed my Ph.D. at Ohio State University in 2010. Before graduate school, I previously lived in Houston, Texas, where I received my B.A. in political science, linguistics and Spanish from Rice University (2001), and subsequently worked as a research assistant at the Jesse Jones Graduate School of Management.
My primary research and teaching interests in American politics are in the areas of elections and voting behavior, state politics, political parties, legislative politics, and public policy. My dissertation examined state legislative redistricting and party finance strategy in contesting state legislative elections.
I am also a lead investigator for the Franklin County Neighborhoods and Elections Study. For more details on the FCNES, including a full description of the project and working papers, please click here.
