Working on CampusHOW MUCH WILL I BE PAID?The Federal minimum hourly wage for 2008-2009 is $7.15 per hour. Your supervisor will assign a pay rate within your designated job level based on your experience and qualifications. (See the Pay Scale Chart.) You will be paid for each hour (or fraction of an hour, rounded to the nearest quarter) worked. You will not be paid for breaks or lunch hours. It is recommended that you keep a record of the hours you submit on each timesheet. WHEN DO I WORK?You will not be expected to work during term vacations and breaks. However, mid-term exams, final exams, and sorority and fraternity rush do not constitute vacation periods. You should meet your regular work schedule during these times unless you have made alternative arrangements with your supervisor. Your job at Susquehanna is like any other job and carries with it similar expectations. WILL I BE FORMALLY EVALUATED?Your performance can be evaluated either at your request or at the request of your supervisor at the end of your employment period in the academic year (Employee Performance Evaluation Form). You and your supervisor should use the evaluation as an opportunity to discuss the position, your experience, your performance, any job-related concerns that may be relevant, and any future employment, if appropriate. CAN I BE FIRED?Yes, you can be fired. Your supervisor may dismiss you from a position if you are not adhering to the agreement you made when you were hired. That dismissal will be reported to the Financial Aid Office. While we will work with you in finding another job, we cannot guarantee placement if the reason for dismissal is negligence on your part or lack of cooperation with the supervisor or the department. |
