In Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES), we study three components of the Earth system: rocks (geology), water (hydrology), and air (meteorology), and link them all together in the study of environmental science. We try to understand how the Earth system works and how humans may be impacting our environment. Our research ranges from fossils to glaciers to clouds and microbes. Check us out - we've got lots to offer! Click on the links in the side menu to learn more about our department. Highlights We now offer teaching certification opportunities in Environmental Science Education (grades K-12) and Earth and Space Science (grades 7-12). Erin Markel, a senior in the department, returned from a Study Abroad in Australia and shares reflections of her program with School for International Training and her research project with penguins. Check out Dr. Elick's educational video site at www.elicksflicks.com. To access a promotional video about our department, click on "other SU movies" and then "Earth and Environmental Sciences.mov". The Well Log, the department newsletter, has been published and distributed to students and alumni. Find out what has been happening in the department at the Well Log. |
