LHVA’s strong commitment to the area’s youth is demonstrated through the Young People’s Heritage Festival (YPHF) initiative.

Natural Resources and the Public Estate

Section 27.5

The people have a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and

esthetic values of the environment. Pennsylvania’s public natural resources are the common property of all the people, including

generations yet to come. As trustee of these resources, the Commonwealth shall conserve and maintain them for the benefit

of all the people.

 

Where does the LHV receive most of its funding from?

LHV uses this funding to help strengthen and promote the local communities, organizations, and historical attractions through grants, event sponsorship and technical assistance.

The Lackawanna Heritage Valley’s partnerships have generated millions of dollars for the local economy that are all focused on celebrating the Lackawanna Valley’s pivotal role in America’s Industrial Revolution.   

Grants:

LHVA’s Partnership Grants Program is primarily funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) through the Pennsylvania Heritage Parks Program (PHPP), and by the National Park Service (NPS) National Heritage Areas Program.
