Why the National Road?

The National Road is known as the Road that built the Nation

Many regions in the heritage area project have a particular history in industries, or famous figures.  The National Road has none.

Instead the National Road has endured the travels of numerous figures and industries helping shape Pennsylvania as the Keystone state
