 “Since its designation as a National Heritage Area in 1996, Rivers of Steel has invested more than $37 million in southwestern Pennsylvania resources.  The investment represents federal, state, local, and private sources.”

 “Rivers of Steel’s investment has funded more than 295 completed and ongoing projects. The projects advance the National Heritage Area’s mission to preserve historic resources, conserve natural resources, support cultural traditions, create educational and interpretive programming, promote tourism and fuel economic development.”
