The original intent of PA’s section of US-Route 6 was to connect 11 County Seats across the northern tier of the Commonwealth.  Route 6, 400 miles of which span northern PA, was incorporated

In 1925 as one of America’s first transcontinental highways, stretching from Cape Cod to California.  Today, Route 6 remains as one of the longest highways in the nation, with the PA section boasting to be “one of America’s most scenic drives” by National Geographic.
