Pros

· Increased tourism —> economic growth and revitalization

· Increased capacity for supplemental funding and grants from the state government

· Increased opportunities for employment and community leadership within the Region

· Allows each smaller portion of the region to cleverly market itself as something unique from the corridor as a whole

Take the High Road!

Cons

· Increased tourism—> hinders “feel” and “landscape” of small towns

· Increased traffic hassles and wear and tear on the roads (which could cause the necessity for more funding)

· Threat of large corporations encroaching on small, locally-owned business and industry

· Seems to “ignore” the value of the people of the area, and instead focuses on tourism/economy/business
