Director of Athletic Communications

Susquehanna University is seeking applications for the Director of Athletics Communications. This position supports Susquehanna University’s long and proud Division III heritage by generating regional and national visibility for its 23 intercollegiate sports and its student-athletes.

Responsibilities include: handling sports media relations; maintaining the athletics Web site pages; developing media guides and supporting materials; compiling and distributing stats for individuals, coaches and teams; managing press areas for home games; managing student staff ; coordinating Hall of Fame Committee and serving as key spokesperson on athletics.

Requirements: bachelor’s degree and experience in a college setting with a broad-based athletic program. Media relations experience preferred. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Facility with StatCrew, Microsoft Word and Excel as well as desktop publishing and Internet. Sports knowledge is essential. Some travel required. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Must have integrity, commitment to men’s and women’s athletics, academic excellence and sense of humor.
