Director of Multicultural Affairs

Susquehanna University invites applications for the director of multicultural affairs.

The director provides leadership in identifying the needs of students from historically underrepresented populations including, but not limited to, ethnic and cultural groups, religious groups, international students, women, students with disabilities, GLBT groups and others, and develops programs and services to help meet those needs. This includes working with other individuals, departments, student organizations, and committees in designing and implementing strategies to increase the recruitment and retention of underrepresented populations and to develop an inclusive campus culture.

A masters degree in student affairs administration or related field is required. Candidates should have at least three years of professional experience working with diverse populations, preferably in a residential, liberal arts environment.

Strong management, teamwork, and communication skills are essential as demonstrated by a proven ability to work across organizational boundaries as an effective member of a team as well as a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of campus and community constituencies. Experience in conflict management and mediation is a plus.
