Zionism and Racism

While part of the mission of the Jewish Studies program at Susquehanna is to promote discussion of issues, topics and critical perspectives related to Judaism and Jewish culture, one in particular compels our attention: the equation of Zionism with racism and the assertion that Zionism is based on racial superiority. As part of the program's commitment to education the following excerpt from Alain Finkielkraut's The Imaginary Jew is offered to the campus community and to Internet visitors as an analysis and untangling of the relation between racism and ideology.
