French Senior Comprehensive

One of our French majors’ crowning achievements is presentation—in French—of a research project. In consultation with their advisor, each student designs his or her topic, building on work begun in one of their courses at SU or during their study abroad experience.

During finals week of spring semester, students present their findings to French majors and faculty in a conference format, in which questions and discussion follow each presentation.

Each year, we are surprised by the breadth of our collective interests, and pleased to be able to hold such an event entirely in French.

The happy conclusion to the day is always a celebratory dinner chez Dr. Manning. Délicieux!
