Visitor Borrowing
Non-Susquehanna Patrons Who Qualify for Borrowing Privileges
Non-SU visitors may qualify for borrowing privileges through one of the following categories. Borrowers must be 17 years of age or older:
- Community member – Eligible to purchase a $10 library card valid for one year. Community members may borrow up to five items at a time.
- SU Alumni and Lutheran affiliates – Eligible to obtain a free library card for valid for one year. Alumni and Lutheran affiliates may borrow up to 10 items at a time.
- Reciprocal/Consortium member – Eligible to obtain a free library card valid for one academic semester for members of a qualifying academic institution who possess a valid ID card from his/her respective institution. Get a list of qualifying academic institutions. Please refer to the section titled "Other Pennsylvania Colleges, Universities and Public Libraries." Reciprocal and consortium members may borrow up to 20 items at a time.
Borrowers of library material are responsible for all items borrowed on their card. Lost library cards should be reported to the circulation desk immediately.

Renewals
All borrowed materials may be renewed for one additional loan period after which the materials must be returned to the library to avoid overdue fines.
Fines for Overdue Materials
The fine for materials returned late is 15 cents per item per day.
Unreturned or Damaged Materials
The replacement and processing fee for unreturned or damaged material is a total of $75, which includes a replacement fee of $65 per item plus a non-refundable processing fee of $10. The replacement fee is refundable if the material is returned.
