Members of the faculty or administration may arrange to place books or
articles on reserve at the Circulation Desk. Either personal copies or the
Library's own materials may be placed on reserve. Reserve materials typically
are limited to use in the Library; however, alternate loan periods may be
requested. The Circulation Librarian (x4022) coordinates this service for books
and articles. Scores, sound recordings, and videos are placed on reserve in the
Music Library for use in the Language Lab/Listening Room. For these items,
please call Jeff Martin (x4549) or use the
Media Reserves Request Form.
General Guidelines:
Deliver all reserve materials to Stephanie Thomas at the Circulation Desk.
Use the appropriate
Reserve Request Form or send an electronic request
Use one form for each
course
If Stephanie Thomas is not present, please give your completed request form
to the Student Worker at the Circulation desk.
Complete bibliographic information must be provided for each item
placed on reserve.
A course syllabus should be provided so that we can assist your
students in finding the materials they need.
Items are processed in the order in which they are received. During
the first month of the semester plan on 3 working days (Monday-Friday) for
material to be processed. After that processing will require less time;
however, please allow 2 working days (Monday- Friday).
You will be notified by email when your materials have been placed on
reserve, and asked to check the iLink (library online catalog) to confirm their
accuracy.
Books:
If a book that is needed for reserve is in circulation, it will
be recalled immediately.
If the Library needs to purchase a book for your course reserve,
please place your order with the Acquisitions Department by June 15th for the
fall semester and November 15th for the spring semester.
Personal copies of books can be placed on reserve, however the
Library cannot guarantee against loss or damage. Barcodes will be placed in the
books for tracking purposes. Personal books will be returned to the Professor
at the end of the semester.
Books obtained through Interlibrary Loan cannot be placed on
reserve.
