London by Day Poem
London by Day
To start with a vital part is the
London Eye
Sightseeing all of Westminster
Abbey as the glass tram car passes by
Including the Houses of Parliament of red and green
While watching the changing of the guards is a pleasant scene
The River Thames runs through the heart of this great city
Providing a different perspective outside the nitty gritty
And the hustle bustle of the notorious underground
That will test your patience pound for £
The west end broadways are a must see
Spectacular performances at a half
priced fee
Trafalgar Square contains its own explanations
Whereas the Tate Modern is up for interpretations
The National Gallery was created
out of inspiration
And the British Museum explores an
ancient civilization
The Tower conceals the most prized crown jewels
So always beware of pickpockets,
thieves, and crazed fools
We all know the London Bridge is not falling down
But to see Charing Cross you take
Northern southbound
Lunch spots are seen on almost every block
Where people are reading about the
collapse of Northern Rock
Where afternoon tea and coffee are the norm
A ten percent tip is efficient and portrays proper form
The buses are random and very confusing
To ask a driver to them is amusing
Hyde Park is a place to run and listen to music notes
And have a relaxing day on the paddleboats
The natural history museum has millions of dinosaur remains
There's a palace, park, and square for Saint James
Kensington Palace has been a royal home for more than three centuries
A private retreat for kings, queens, and a gate that's nestled behind beautiful trees
The royal mews are a must see and are very clean
The horses are well groomed and kept conditionally pristine
Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester,
and Liverpool
To wear another country's jersey you must be a fool
The London pubs are everywhere and open during the day
Where business formal is the dress, but are all drinking away
Piccadilly, Bakerloo, Northern, and Central are the main lines
The tube map is befuddling and is
similar to intertwined grapevines
All that's necessary are two fresh legs and a digital
Along with time, money, and
desire. which is pivotal
It's obvious that everything is
generally pretty expensive
But similar to New York or California the options are very extensive
The District, Central, South, and West ends are great
To miss one, the other, or all is a London visitor's fate
Where every part of town is alive at midday
To be bored with nothing to do one
must never say
London is possibly the greatest city in the world
Having inexperienced it would be a terrible tale unfurled
All I can say is that London, England is a fabulous place to be
So many things to do, places to go, and people to see
