MAWSA 2004 welcomes
proposals in the form of papers, panels, and interactive workshops in all areas
related to women's studies teaching, research, and
practice inside and outside the classroom. We are focusing next year’s conference
on the lived
experiences of rural women.
We encourage proposals that include student voices.
A CD-Rom version of conference proceedings will be published and available for purchase.
Topics can include, but are not limited to:
- 2004 politics and women
- Public policy issues affecting rural women
- Religious communities and female spirituality
- Developing leadership opportunities
- International issues—e.g. migration, tourism, colonialism
- Health issues and empowerment
- Connections between rural and urban women
- Multiculturalism and diversity
- Institutional commitments and program funding
- Rural women, global perspectives
- Community partnerships, activism,experiential learning, service learning

Proposals should include:
- Person’s name
- Mailing address and E-mail address
- 1 page panel description/ paper abstract
- Type of session
- Equipment required
- Names, addresses, e-mails and a 50-word biography of all presenters
