The Sankofa Book Project

Developed by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and the Office of Multicultural Affairs

Sankofa is an African word which means "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today."

The aim of the Sankofa Book Project is to collect information from members of the Susquehanna community about the books that have been most inspiring in their lives. In discovering these books submitted by numerous people of different backgrounds, we hope to find common threads that tie us all together.

Information collected through the Sankofa Book Project will be published online at http://thesankofabookproject.blogspot.com/

You can play an important role in this project by submitting information about a book that has been especially meaningful and inspirational in your life. It can be a book you read as a child or a book that you have recently read. Please be as detailed as possible in answering the following questions.
