One of the most comprehensive and competitive music programs in Pennsylvania and the northeast region, the Music Department at Susquehanna University has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1967. 

The Department of Music offers exceptional musical training within the framework of a solid liberal arts education. A distinguished faculty prepares students to become outstanding performers, music educators, and liberally educated persons sensitive to the role of music in their lives and in the lives of others. The Department offers a wide variety of courses and performing opportunities, with practical options for music majors and minors:

The Bachelor of Music degree provides a highly specialized, pre-professional curriculum in music, with a focus on Music Education or Performance.

The Bachelor of Arts degree makes it possible to combine specialized study in music with another academic area.

The three Music Minors enable the non-music major to pursue some specialized study in music. The minors are Music Performance, Music Theory/Literature and Music Technology.
