Jason Mraz Headlines Earth-Friendly Concert at SU
March 20, 2008
SELINSGROVE, (Pa.) - Susquehanna University's Student Activities Committee will host their annual spring concert featuring Atlantic Records recording artist Jason Mraz. The April 11 concert, part of Mraz's Music, Magic and Make Peace Tour, includes special guests Bushwalla and illusionist Justin Kredible. The show begins at 8 p.m. in Weber Chapel Auditorium.
The tour kicks off in tandem with Mraz's forthcoming album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things, due for released online May 20.
The album follows Mraz's two previous studio releases, Waiting for My Rocket to Come (2002) and Mr. A-Z (2005).
Mraz's tour is presented in association with Reverb, a nonprofit organization designed to educate and engage music fans to promote environmental sustainability. Reverb works closely with artists to create environmentally friendly events and tours.
"Working with Reverb has always been a dream of mine," Mraz said. "I am very happy to be doing my part to make less of a mess while we roll through each city on this tour."
Among the organization's environmental efforts are the use of biodiesel in all tour buses and trucks, supporting the construction of new renewable energy projects such as wind farms, using sustainable supplies and goods, and offering eco-friendly organic cotton merchandise to fans.
Tickets, which are $15 for SU students and $30 for the general public, may be purchased by calling the university box office at 570-372-2787.
