Susquehanna Campus and Shikellamy Cheering Squad Are 'MADE' on MTV Episode
SELINSGROVE—Susquehanna University athletics facilities were the site of filming for an upcoming episode of MTV’s “MADE.” The episode, “Cheerleader,” focuses on a tough coach who whips the Shikellamy High School cheerleading squad into a highly competitive team. The episode is scheduled to air Oct. 17 at locally scheduled times.
“MADE” is an unscripted show that offers teens the chance to achieve a goal over several weeks with the aid of a notable coach or mentor. Past episodes have featured teens aspiring to become a varsity football player, the homecoming queen or a Latin dancer.
Four crew members descended on the Susquehanna campus last summer to film the cheerleader training sessions at Nicholas A. Lopardo Stadium and the James W. Garrett Sports Complex field house. Having both indoor and outdoor filming venues was one reason Susquehanna was chosen.
“The staff at Susquehanna University was a pleasure to work with,” said “MADE” Story Editor Shannon Biggs. “They were really helpful and responsive, which is always a great help when trying to produce a show of this nature.”
