Gallery Opening to Showcase Drawing and Painting Competition

SELINSGROVE—The Lore Degenstein Gallery of Susquehanna University will hold its autumn exhibition, a juried visual art competition and exhibition, from Oct. 30 through Dec. 17, with an opening reception, free and open to the public, Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The competition was open to two-dimensional figurative artists over the age of 18; currently residing in the United States; and working in painting, drawing or printmaking. Works were selected by Tim Doud, associate professor of art at American University in Washington, D.C. Doud will announce the competition’s three award winners during a talk at the opening reception.
The Lore Degenstein Gallery exhibits, interprets, collects and preserves objects of art and material culture that support academic investigations and contribute to the cultural life of central Pennsylvania. While adhering to professional standards of museum ethics, the gallery preserves and displays art from both the university's permanent collection and loans from other institutions and private collections.
