Susquehanna University to Stage Tragic Wedding Tale

SELINSGROVE—Susquehanna University’s Department of Theatre will perform an adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s “Blood Wedding” by Tanya Ronder, April 14 to 17 at 8 p.m. in the Degenstein Center Theater.
“Blood Wedding” is a tragedy about a family vendetta and a bride who runs away with the son of the enemy family. Written in 1932 and set in a rural Spanish community, the play explores what happens to human desire when it is constrained by social expectations and conventions.
Admission for adults is $10, and for non-SU students, $8. For tickets, call 570-372-ARTS, Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m.
