Susquehanna President Says University Family Hit Hard by Sandy
Published on November 1, 2012
Dear Members of the Susquehanna Family,
Although Susquehanna University and the Greater Susquehanna Valley escaped the wrath of Hurricane Sandy, we are aware that many of you suffered significant losses. We know that large numbers of you live in the areas most affected by the storm, so Sandy’s impact has hit our community hard. We are sorry for the hardships you are experiencing. You are in our thoughts and prayers and will continue to be top of mind in the weeks ahead.
We are here to support you in any way we can. Please tell us how you’re doing. You can reach us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, by posting something to Facebook.com/SusquehannaU or by sending a tweet to twitter.com/SusquehannaU.
Many are wondering what they can do to help. To assist with the recovery efforts, we ask that all Susquehannans consider making a donation to the Red Cross and other aid agencies such as Lutheran Disaster Response. There are other efforts underway here to imagine how our community might well be able to support the long recovery that is ahead and we will keep you apprised on any developments.
Times like this bring us back to what is most important and that is each other. Be well, stay strong and thanks again to all for your examples of caring for one another and for those who have been in harm’s way.
L. Jay Lemons
