SELINSGROVE, (Pa.) – The Susquehanna University chapter of Habitat for Humanity will sponsor a “Faces of Homelessness” presentation on Thursday, April 7. The program begins at 7 p.m. in Apple Community Room of the James W. Garrett Sports Complex. The public is invited to attend free of charge and encouraged to come early as seating is limited.

As part of Habitat for Humanity’s international “Act! Speak! Build!” week, the presentation will feature a talk by Michael O’Neill, speakers’ bureau coordinator for the National Coalition for the Homeless, and three current or formerly homeless individuals who will discuss their experiences. Video depicting images of homelessness will also be shown, followed by a question and answer session.

“The goal of the program is to personalize homelessness and inspire people to get involved in their community and make a difference by volunteering,” says Lauren Stevenson, president of SU Habitat for Humanity and an elementary education major from Yardley, Pa.

For more information, Stevenson may be contacted at 570-372-3814 or stevenson@susqu.edu.
