SUSQUEHANNA PROFESSOR'S POETRY TO AIR ON NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

Aug. 19, 2008 SELINSGROVE (Pa.) – Author and radio personality Garrison Keillor will read a poem by Susquehanna University Professor Gary Fincke on his syndicated radio program, The Writer's Almanac, on Aug. 25. Fincke, a prolific and award-winning author of poetry and prose, teaches creative writing courses in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, and directs the Susquehanna University Writers Institute. Keillor selected a piece from Fincke's new book (The Fire Landscape, University of Arkansas Press) for the program, which airs on 320 National Public Radio stations around the country.  The poem, The Sorrows, which was also reprinted on Poetry Daily recently (http://www.poetrydaily.org/poem.php?date=14079), can be heard locally on WVIA-FM at noon on Aug. 25.
