Trombone players practice, perform on campus

SELINSGROVE, Pa., -- Trombone lovers unite. The annual Fall Festival O'Bones will be held Sunday, October 4 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Degenstein Center Theater at Susquehanna University. Trombone players from around the area will spend the afternoon rehearsing a variety of trombone choir music, led by Kevin Henry. In addition, there will be a master class on the Rimsky-Korsakov Concerto for Trombone (PMEA District 8 Trombone Solo), also taught by Henry.

Thirty-three people, including high school and college students and community members will participate, up from last year's 25. This is the third year for the event.

The day will culminate in a free, public concert given by participants at 4 p.m. Henry will perform the Concerto for Trombone, accompanied on the piano by Dr. David Mattingly, assistant professor of music at Susquehanna University. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call (717) 372-4281.
