The Facilities Management Department is responsible for the general upkeep of the campus grounds and buildings, and operates the university’s steam plant. In addition to day–to-day maintenance, Facilities Management assists in set-ups, delivery of packages, reconfiguring of office spaces as needed etc.
The departments within Facilities Management are: Carpentry, Central Receiving, Custodial, Electrical, Grounds/General Labor, Locksmith, Paint, Plumbing, Preventive Maintenance and Steam Generation.
Requests for service or concerns may be made by campus mail, phone (x4147) or e-mail. Work is scheduled in advance therefore a few days notification is appreciated. Last minute requests are discouraged. Good judgment on the part of individuals must be an important determining factor of what is an emergency.
Any unusual occurrence, malfunction of a utility, or an equipment failure that may present imminent damage to life or property is an emergency and should be reported immediately by phone (x4147) to the Facilities Management office. NOTE: If the emergency is a fire, call 911 FIRST, then the Facilities Management office. Any matter requiring immediate attention after hours should be directed to Public Safety (x4444).
