Assistant or Associate Professor of Education
Susquehanna University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Education with a focus in special education and cognition. A minimum of three years of public school experience is required. A completed doctorate and University teaching experience are required for consideration for Associate Professor rank; ABD considered for the Assistant rank, but completion of the degree for ongoing tenure track appointment is required.
The successful candidate will have a degree in special education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field. Also required is experience working with special-needs students. Highly desirable are experience in early childhood or elementary education and university teaching. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in teaching, service, and research and publishing.
Responsibilities include teaching special education courses. Additional responsibilities may include teaching introductory education courses and supervising student teachers. The new faculty member will participate in collaborative projects with local schools, advise education students, serve on university committees, and engage in scholarly and professional activities.
Appointment begins August 2013.
