What is the Psychology Club?
Psychology Club is an organization focused on creating
a sense of community among students of psychology. Its goals are to provide
students interested in psychology with opportunities to interact with other
students of similar interests. The organization also works to educate students
regarding graduate school programs and careers available in the vast field
of psychology. In addition, Psychology Club explores the area of psychology
beyond the classroom through viewing films with themes relevant to the
study of psychology, and taking trips to places such as mental hospitals
and prisons.
What's the point?
Psychology Club has several main purposes. The first
is to encourage students interested in psychology to interact in a setting
that encourages shared communication. The second is to advance the cause
of psychology by encouraging members to become involved in the professional
activities of psychologists, such as participating in research and attending
psychology conferences.
What exactly do we do?
We plan a lot of activities, including movie nights,
games, field trips, guest speakers, and Mental Health
Awareness Week. We also present at EPA conferences and have information
sessions about grad school options. For more information, click the "Activities" link above.
