Web Publishing Policy - Institutional Pages

Institutional Web pages are defined as levels 1, 2, and 3 of the University Web site and other projects as determined by the web steering committee or the webmaster. The following policy statements are in addition to the base policy statements.

  • Content is subject to the review of the webmaster and/or the web steering committee.

  • Institutional pages will be created with the recognition of the following levels of security:
    • Unrestricted Data – available to client browsers anywhere
    • University Only Data – PIN protected and/or IP restricted
    • Individual Data – PIN protected

  • Individuals responsible for institutional pages should use discretion when linking directly to personal Web pages. Consideration should include the appropriateness of the material to the focus and mission of the responsible department or program. The material should be reviewed periodically to ensure that it continues to be appropriate.

  • Aliases are provided in the form www.susqu.edu/alias/.

  • The University reserves the right to use institutional Web page content to promote the interests of the University.

  • Institutional Web pages will be reviewed by the responsible individual(s) a minimum of monthly during the academic year for accuracy and functionality. All links and images should be checked to make sure they function properly. All text should be reviewed for accuracy. After each review, the information within the footer of the page must be updated as necessary.
