Guest Speakers

The Political Science Department offers speakers on a wide range of subjects. Most recently, the department has sponsored the following events:

  • Dr. Glenn Palmer, Associate Professor of Political Science at Penn State University, presented a talk entitled American Foreign Policy under the Neo-cons: An Historical approach during the Spring 2007 semester.
  • Dr. Mehdi Noorbaksh, Associate Professor of International Affairs at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, presented a talk entitled U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East: Problems and Challenges during the Fall 2006 semester.

    Past speakers offered by the Political Science Department include the following:

    Two speakers on U.S. Congressional elections
  • Dr. G. Terry Madonna of Millersville University and Director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs
  • Dr. James A. Thurber of American University and Director of the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies


  • Two Speakers on the Middle East
  • Dr. Naseer Auri, Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, presenting the Palestinian view
  • Dr. Ilan Peleg of Lafayette College, presenting the Israeli view


  • Events sponsored by Politics Club:
    Two panels from U.S. Army War College, Carlisle, discussing
  • The Middle East and Afghanistan from the military's perspective
  • The war in Iraq


  • Additionally, Politics Club and Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science honors society, hosted a student meeting with U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, which was televised on the Pennsylvania Cable Network.
