Prelaw Advising

The Prelaw program’s most important function is advising students. There is not a strict regimen that all students must follow. Instead, the Prelaw program at SU aims to provide students with an informational resource that they can use when they need it.

Perhaps the most valuable source of advice that Susquehanna students have at their disposal is Dr. Michele DeMary, the Prelaw Advisor. Whether they are just starting to consider law school or well into the application process, students are always welcome to meet with Dr. DeMary with any questions or concerns that they may have. This allows students the opportunity to receive one-on-one advising that is specific to their individual situation.

The Prelaw program advises students in a number of other ways as well. For one, Prelaw students are regularly kept informed about upcoming events and items of interest. Information sessions are also held once a semester which are designed to provide students with more specific information regarding the actual application process. While these sessions are aimed at upperclassmen, all are welcome to attend.

To help students prepare for the Law School Admissions Test [LSAT], the program provides a practice exam twice a semester so students can simulate what the actual test will be like. Furthermore, the University will pay for one half the cost of an LSAT preparation course for interested students.

The decision to go to law school is ultimately your own, and only you can make that happen. However, if that is the choice you make, Susquehanna will help guide and support you in every way possible.
