Each year, Susquehanna University organizes a Mock Trial team which competes in the regional competition hosted by the American Mock Trial Association. During these competitions, students argue a hypothetical case by playing the role of both attorneys and witnesses. Students begin preparing early in the fall semester for the competition that is normally held in late January or early February.
The Mock Trial team is by no means limited exclusively to students interested in studying law. However, if you are considering law as a postgraduate career, the Mock Trial Team can help give you some flavor of what litigation is like, while at the same time improving your advocacy skills. Either way, Mock Trial is an exciting opportunity and most students have a great time doing it.
For more information regarding the Mock Trial Team, feel free to contact the president of the organization, Jillian Trimmel.
