In 1968, PRSSA was created by PRSA with the purpose of cultivating a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. Today PRSSA has more than 6,500 members in 220 chapters on college campuses across the country.
PRSSA gives its members the knowledge of public relations by providing access to professional development opportunities; to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals.
