Activities

Each meeting we have a fun activity to de-stress and relax. These include:

  • Decorating our wall for seasons and holidays
  • Games (Chubby bunny, water-gun Taboo, Cranium, Personal Preference, Texas Hold Em)
  • Speakers (Professionals in psychology, Andy Dunlap LCSW, a ghost hunter and his psychic)
  • Movies (Momento, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Shining and many more)
  • Field Trips (Prision and Danville State Hospital)
  • Halloween Party (costumes required, a visit to the fisher attic, and a scary movie of course)
  • Christmas Party (Tree decorating, Charlie Brown's Christmas and The Grinch)

    Mental Health Awareness Week:

    During this week in October, Psych Club helps to educate the SU community about mental health issues including --
  • mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety
  • stress management
  • careers in psychology and the mental health field

    Eastern Psychological Association Conference:

    The Psychology Department sends members of Psych Club to the annual EPA Conference in April.
    Students experience the professional world of psychological research by attending paper sessions, poster sessions, and discussions.
    Some SU students also present their Directed Research or Independent Research projects alongside graduate students and professional researchers.
