Extreme Green Makeover

Extreme Green Makeover reaches out to local businesses in reducing their negative impacts on the environment. In today’s world, it is absolutely necessary for businesses to be operating in environmentally-friendly ways. However, “going green” is often easier said than done; in these economic times, businesses (especially small, privately-owned ones) do not have the financial resources to make such changes. However, it is exactly these changes that can help reduce costs and lead them to greater profits.

After identifying two local businesses that could benefit from more environmentally-friendly practices, we offered a $500 grant to each of these businesses in their pursuits of “going green.” Contingent upon receiving the grant, the businesses are required to implement the changes that they proposed to us during the initial planning stages.
