Last April, SIFE students recognized a unique opportunity they could get involved with: reviving the Selinsgrove Downtown Farmer’s Market. At the time, there was only one Amish farmer who set up shop each Saturday. By partnering with the Borough Manager and other local business leaders, we had the opportunity to visit four Amish farms and speak to the families about the market. We also started a promotional campaign to promote the Farmer’s Market to the Selinsgrove Community. This year, we will continue our partnership with the Borough Manager as we work to expand the market to more local farmers and promote it throughout the community. There is tremendous growth potential for this project and we are excited to get started!
