SU Salvage

During the 2004-2005 school year we began to lay the groundwork for the SU SIFE Consignment Shop. The online shop will be run entirely by SU SIFE students and will provide our team with steady revenue, something we have not had since our team was founded.

In the following year, we investigated the legal and tax issues surrounding our online consignment shop and then began to plan the website design. We worked with SU’s IT department to complete the website and get the shop up and running.

The website was finalized during the 2007-2008 school year, and this year we hope to have it up and running for students at SU, with a future goal being expanding the online consignment shop to others in our Selinsgrove community. Another one of our future goals for the project includes opening an actual store on campus where students and members of the community can come and browse our inventory.

This project has allowed us to gain knowledge about website design, e-commerce, and all of the accounting work that goes into successfully opening a business. We are very excited about how this project will grow, not only this year, but also in the years to come.
