Chesapeake Bay Commission
The Chesapeake Bay Commission has generously pledged support
for a water quality project between Susquehanna University Science
in Motion (SIM) and the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC)
in the form of a $25,000 grant. The goal of this
project is to engage secondary science students who reside along
the branches of the Susquehanna River in real and meaningful data
collection and reporting concerning water quality. State
Representative Russell H. Fairchild, R-85 of Lewisburg,
presented the original grant to SIM and the SRBC at Susquehanna
University during the two day training workshop for area teachers
participating in the project. In his presentation speech, Rep.
Fairchild mentioned how teachers and students participating in
the project will be a part of history in cleaning up the problem
areas in the Chesapeake Bay, Susquehanna River, and its tributaries.
We extend our thanks to the Chesapeake Bay Commission for their
support!
