BARTOSIC RANKED AMONG NCAA FOOTBALL STAT LEADERS

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna University sophomore split end Mark Bartosic is ranked among the NCAA Division III football statistical leaders in a pair of categories, through games of October 27.

Bartosic (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy H.S.) is tied for 24th with an average of 7.1 receptions per game (57 total) and tied for 12th with an average of 116.8 receiving yards per game (934 total) in eight games.

Bartosic tied the school single-season record for receptions (57) set by Al Bucci in 1987 and broke Bucci’s career mark of 1,944 yards against King’s last Saturday. In 18 career games, Bartosic has 108 receptions for 1,962 yards and 24 touchdowns – just one score shy of Bucci’s career mark set from 1984-87.

Bartosic already holds the Susquehanna single-season records for receiving yards (1,028) and touchdowns (15), both set last season, and needs 13 catches to equal Bucci’s career mark for receptions of 121.

The Crusaders (2-6 overall, 2-5 Middle Atlantic Conference) will travel to Moravian on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
